12/27/2023 0 Comments Blackberry desktop manager torch 981095.0.0.832 was your original OS out of the box, but lots of OS's will have come before that and after.Ģ. Also a few points I thought you'd like clarified or explained…ġ. There were some things you did that might have been unnecessary or easily avoided. Good for you for keeping some calm, doing some decent research, and asking a question with a detailed post. Last edited by hello_dave 02-02-11 at 03:38 PM. I'm using Desktop Software v6 (DS 6), so please be specific while guiding me. I've been through many posts, but no luck. 5 hours down, I've not been able to resolve the matter. Right now, I am getting a white screen with Reload Software: Error 507 on the practically dead device. The Loader.exe file in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader doesn't recognize the device, but detects the device PIN in USB mode. The "Update My Device" in Device menu is greyed out too. So I went for it, and now although DS recognizes the device, it says " Blackberry Desktop Software cannot communicate with the connected device", and on opting Update, it still says " There are no Blackberry Device Software updates available". So I looked up the internet, and it turned out that I was supposed to use external wipe applications ( BBSAK/JL_Cmder) in order to wipe the device and then install the required OS using the DS. So, I installed both the versions on PC and connected the device, but the DS wouldn't show the versions available and wouldn't let me upgrade, instead it would say " There are no Blackberry Device Software updates available". Later, my Service Books got deleted (manually ) and I thought that the best way to get them back would be to reinstall 5.0.0.977. It is actually quite easy.I'm using Curve 9300 with carrier AirTel and the default OS was 5.0.0.832. They had something in the phone number field but that didn't work for me. The settings shown in that thread are the same with the exception of the phone number. Here is a link to a thread about this in the Mac area on Crackberry: Choose Bluetooth DUN from the drop down menu for the interface.ĪPN: wap.cingular CID: 1 Vendor: Research in Motion Model: Blackberry IP Modem GSM Click the + to add a service if Bluetooth DUN is not there. Go to System preferences and choose Network. only bought it cuz it advertised tethering over usb which doesnt even work on mac.To use bluetooth, make your hone discoverable and click on the bluetooth symbol on the top of your Mac s screen and choose "Setup bluetooth device and follow the directions. im honestly very happy i didnt pay 50$ for it cuz i would be completely pissed right now. keeps crashing on my bb or on the laptop. Thanks in advance for any help.ĭo you have a tutorial on how to do it on mac? i spent 25$ on tether when it was on sale and the terrible app never works properly. However if I connect my old Curve 8900 to DM6 I see the option to tether immediately upon connecting the device on the bottom left corner of the DM6's window. For what it's worth, I also connected a Torch 9800 running on AT&T network with a 2GB data plan and still do not see this option. Does anyone else have this problem, or am I the only one who does not have this option available on DM6. I've been searching these forums and haven't found any info. I've look at the Technical Specs provided by RIM at and Tethered Modem is listed as a supported Feature. (I'm with T-Mobile and have the unlimited data plan) I just got the Torch, unlocked it and everything is working properly on T-Mobile's network, however as I mentioned when I connect the Torch to the Desktop Manager I don't see any option to tether as I previously did with the Curve 8900. I previously had a Curve 8900 and tethered with no problems thru DM6 running on Windows 7. Has anyone successfully tethered their Torch 9800 thru Desktop Manager 6? When I connect my phone to my computer and run DM6 I no longer see the option to tether on the bottom left corner of the applications window.
